Sunday FUNday

We've been busy this Sunday.  Rick & Spencer went "manly shopping".  This is something BIG to Spencer and it's only him and his daddy going to "manly" stores...i.e. Lowes, Gander, Sears, etc.  Rick has been doing this with him for awhile & it's precious to hear about their excursions.  And, Rick is so good to send me pictures while they're gone. :)

Ready to go!

Riding lawn mowers are a must!

Gander...his favorite store.

Spencer has a love for bow and arrows (thanks to Hawkeye) and he usually ends up shooting so many arrow that they break.  Well, dad got him a heavy duty bow and he loves it!  The goggles were another purchase today.  Spencer says they are his Wobble Gobbles (like Scott on the Imagination Movers).

And, I had  my little helper make a trip to the grocery store with me.

Busy afternoon & love it!

Dentist

Spencer had his first dentist appointment last week.  We went to a pediatric dentist that I had tons of referrals to.  And, we are glad we did.

Spencer does not like laying down for any doctor.  It doesn't matter if it's just a simple check-up, he's not laying down.  He told us before we even got back to see the dentist that he wasn't laying down.  Well, they finally got him to lay down a bit (with some bribery that entailed wearing the cool Spiderman shades).

They didn't want to clean his teeth this visit due to him not wanting to lay down at first and they wanted his visit to be a positive experience.  So, we go back in 3 months for a cleaning.  Dr. Tipton did get to look at his teeth though! (Can you see he's still not too excited about laying down??)

Love the dentist we chose and we'll go back in 3 months!

Christmas

Ok, I'll be mostly caught up after this post and things will be more recent from here on out. ;)

Here's our sweetheart at his Christmas program at school.

I love this picture because he is literally YELLING, "Gram & PaPaw, are you coming to my house?"  And yes sweetie, they are/did. :)

Hudson, Kaile (used to be his teacher, but is our steady babysitter and we LOVE her!) & Spencer

Love this boy!

Stephen came down for Christmas and him and Spencer had more fun.  Poor Stephen could not go to another room without Spencer following him and/or wondering where he was.  Spencer is so lucky to have such awesome brothers!

Have I mentioned how much Spencer loves costumes???  You have NO IDEA.  NONE.  All Spencer wanted for Christmas was a Thor & Hulk costume. If you asked him if he wanted anything else he would say, "Nothing."

And we woke up to a white Christmas!
That melted the next day. ;)

We had a fabulous Christmas (as always).  I love my family!!!!!!

Santa

The BEST Santa picture ever was my son in 2009!  Hands down, the best you will ever see.

But, these couldn't be any more precious this year...

Polar Express Party

We have the Polar Express train here and wanted to take Spencer and one of his friends.  We checked into it and long story short, it was going to cost around $200 for 4 of us.  Uh, no.

Rick got the bright idea to have our own Polar Express party at our house.  We invited Spencer's friends Hudson & Braylee to come over.  We also invited his friend Sawyer, but she couldn't make it that night.

I made these invites and sent them in the mail to the kids.

I also enclosed this ticket and I backed it with shiny gold card stock.

I didn't take pictures of a lot of the things I did for the kids because I figured I wouldn't be blogging about it anyway. :/  We had pigs in a blanket and grapes & strawberries to start off with.  I made hot chocolate in the crock pot which was the best hot chocolate I've ever had.  We put the hot chocolate in mugs I had our art teacher write on for me (no pictures at all - sorry).  Each one had their own personalized mug that had their name and on the other side said "Believe".   Braylee brought some cotton candy and I had already made cups like this to put popcorn in, so we used them for cotton candy instead.  I also made these chocolate dipped marshmallows.

Oh my gosh they had a blast!!

After the movie, it was time to play doctor...

Family Pictures

We finally got family pictures made!  Get this, we have NEVER had pictures made together as a family.  None.  Zip.  Zero.  I have no idea why, but I'm so glad we did.

Heather with Caroline Grace Photography did an AMAZING job and I can't wait to get more done by her!  We didn't get any of just Rick & I because it started to rain (and some of the following pictures it was raining but you can't even tell).  Here are a few some of my favorites...
